Swan Storm

We went over to a friend's place tonight. There was a storm and I had my camera! I managed to capture a few good moments before the rain and then some after. The only bad news is that I think something is wrong with my camera, like a bad pixel or something cause I keep getting a sparkly dot on some of the pics. The only upside is that I'll probably get a new camera some time soon!

Family Shoot

This shoot was a lot of fun. I'm hoping for another one in the fall. They live across the street so it's pretty convenient!

Social Gathering

Our racehorse trainer was given a surprise party to celebrate his fiftieth birthday. There was a pig roast, many attendees and gag gifts. The cake was fashioned from one of my photographs! I was the self-appointed, unoficial party photographer. There were disposable cameras, left neglected on the tables.

The Neighbors

My neighbors came over and walked Jate for a while. We have a shoot scheduled but I figured I would take a couple of test shots beforehand. It worked out quite well despite the heat. I can't wait for the shoot! They are such well mannered, smart, and fun kids to work with.

The Sisters

Jimi's Little Wing, Princess Michi and Roll the Di were turned out together and I managed to take some shots of them together. I'm hoping to do it again some time before winter.

The Photo Shoot

I really loved some of the photos I managed to capture. I might re-shoot at the same location with the girls getting glam. I'm looking forward to it. I want to try to capture some more reflection in the water shots.

The Spider

There was this huge spider that decided to call our backyard home. My hubby nearly walked into it one night. I tried to capture some images of it at night and early morning. Once the sun came out, he was nowhere to be found. I captured some pretty looking images, and luckily too since he has yet to return since he noticed the "paparazzi!" I've been playing around with attempting a faux fish eye look by spherizing in photoshop. It kind of works with certain images.

Fair Races, Blue Division

After our 2 year old filly pacer finished fifth last week, we were a little more nervous about her talent. It helped calm us down when she won this week. I tried out my canon rebel xt with my Quantaray 70-300 1:4-5.6 lens on a monopod during the races prior to Roll the Di's race. I don't know what I expected but was very disappointed. I know I'll need an IS lens if I ever intend on shooting fast action sports. I got some okay shots, mostly non action. For some reason though, my focus needs some work. I'm finding a lot of shots I thought were good suffered from slight hand shake. I need a new monopod, tripod and lense. Must save up some funds for new gear.

Random Photos

I managed to take some pictures during the Michigan Futurity races at Fowlerville despite the extreme heat. I also took pictures of Gifted Jate's return to our backyard. It's nice to have him back home.
